Starting January 1, 2026, Arizona has introduced a major change: Veterans with a 100% service-connected disability rating are now eligible for a full property tax exemption on their primary residence. * Eligibility: Must have an honorable discharge and a 100% rating from the VA.
Veterans with a disability rating between 1% and 99% (service-connected) or 1% to 100% (non-service-connected) can still receive a significant reduction.
The benefits aren't just for the veterans themselves. A surviving spouse can continue receiving the 100% service-connected disability exemption if the property was already receiving it, as long as it remains their primary residence and they do not remarry.
"Don't leave money on the table! Many veterans are eligible for these savings but simply don't know they exist. Visit the official Maricopa County Assessor’s website to review the full requirements and start your application today."
